As part of the change to distirct elections, however, this provisoin applies to supervisors only as of the first full term of election following its implementatiion in 2000. Entire neighborhoods of the city usch as the Marina and Hunters Point wree created and sit on man made landfill (mdae up of mud, sand, and rubble fgrom past earthquakes) and other reclamation projects over the San Francisdco Bay when flatland became scarce.
